REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for the spring 2025 season will open on February 1, 2025.

2024 Volunteer Requirements

To keep baseball operating costs reasonable, PMBA is implementing a mandatory volunteer requirement beginning in the 2024 season.
One volunteer shift per athlete to a maximum of 2 per family will become a requirement upon registration. A shift deposit of $200 per athlete or $300 per family will be required and will be cashed if the volunteer shift is not completed. Bingos will be available for sign up to fufill your mandatory volunteer requirement. Note: Food credits are no longer available for bingo workers.
Coaching, managing, and other volunteer opportunities will be available as well.
Further information will be posted to the PMBA website when it becomes available.

If you have a board or bingo credit, do not complete payment on your registration.  Please email registrar@parklandminorball.com and your credit will get applied to your in-progress registration. You will be notified when your registration is ready to be finalized.

KidSport

What do you get?

- Assigned Ball Diamonds

- Team Picture

- Community League Tournament

- Equipment for each level (Balls, Bases, Tees, Catcher Equipment)

- Umpires (11U & Up)

- Games and practices a minimum of two nights per week.

Required Safety Equipment:

All players must provide the following mandatory safety equipment available at United Cycle, Sport Chek, or Canadian Tire.

- CSA Approved Batting Helmet

- CSA Approved Athletic Protective Cup or Jill Strap

Other Required Equipment:

- Baseball Glove.

- Bat

- In recreation league, runners are fine. Rubber or hard plastic cleats (only) are optional.

Evaluation Schedule (9U-13U)

Each athlete will be required to attend one evaluation session.  This is to try and create near equal teams.  These dates/times will be sent out by the level coordinator.

Under Age Exemption Process:

The registration process will only allow players to register in their applicable age division.

Extraordinary circumstances may support Under Age Exemption requests, therefore, we may consider on a case by case basis. If you would like to request an age exemption, please complete the google form here: Underage Request Form

Please register and sign up for evaluations for the applicable age group.

Examples:

If athlete is 9U age level and is requesting to play in 11U, please register for 9U and sign up for a 9U evaluation.

If athlete is 7U Rally Cap and requesting to play 9U, please register for 7U Rally Cap.

Non-Resident Rep Players:

For players not residing in Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, or Parkland County, please complete the non-resident (import) tryout form.  If successful in making a PMBA rep team, a separate season registration will be sent to complete.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Baseball or Softball?

Currently PMBA offers coed baseball (small white ball).  GIRLS softball (larger yellow ball) for U9-U17 is offered through Parkland Softball at https://parklandsoftball.ca/

What level do I register my player for?

Check the chart at the top of this page for birth year and level information.

When does the season start and finish?

The recreation season will start at the beginning of May (weather permitting) and finish by the end of June.

If my player tries out for a rep team and is not successful, what happens?

If your child is not placed on a rep team, their registration be moved to the recreation league and they will attend evaluations to be placed on a recreation team.

What equipment does my player need?

You will find a list of required equipment on each level's webpage, found under Recreation and then the drop down to their age level.  All players in PMBA require their own helmet and glove as well as possible other equipment.

When are Rep tryouts?

Tryouts will begin at the start of March and be completed by spring break.
